There’s something truly magical about a summer wedding at Stanbrook Abbey. Picture this: a radiant sunny day, the magnificent Stanbrook Abbey standing proudly against the backdrop of a vibrant blue sky. This was the setting for a gorgeous wedding at Stanbrook Abbey filled with summer pastels.
Bride’s Manor
Our day began with the infectious energy of the bride and her bridesmaids at Bride’s Manor. Laughter filled the air as they danced around in matching pajamas, excitement bubbling as the final preparations took place.
Once hair and makeup were complete, the bride headed upstairs to get her dress on.
The bride’s grand reveal down the sweeping staircase was filled with excitement. None of the bridesmaids had seen her in her dress before. They all closed their eyes and on the count of three, took their first glimpse of the gorgeous bride. Cue lots of shrieks, laughter and happy tears!
The Groom’s Room
Meanwhile, in the groom’s room, the groom and his groomsmen were getting ready. We captured candid shots of them suiting up and sharing laughs before venturing into the historic cloisters for some striking portraits.
Bride & Groom Portraits
With such a stunning venue as a backdrop, we love to get a couple of amazing portraits of both the bride and the groom before they see each other for the first time that day. Not only do these look incredible, but it’s so great being there afterwards when they first see these photos of each other brimming wiht anticipation.
The Impressive Callow Great Hall Ceremony
The ceremony itself was a blend of history and emotion, held in the majestic Callow Great Hall with its original features adding a timeless charm.
The groom’s reaction upon seeing the bride as she walked down the aisle was so heartwarming. Tears of joy flowed freely as they exchanged vows, surrounded by their loved ones.
I love capturing ceremony moments from up on the balcony above the couple. It’s a great way to show off the grandeur of the venue filled with all of their guests.
The Bell Tower Climb
Yes, I may be a little mad. The guests all told me I was anyway, after I climbed to the top of the (very very high) bell tower for a group photograph!
Couple Photos in the Historic Cloisters
Every couple who gets married at Stanbrook Abbey want an amazing photograph in the venue’s historic cloisters. It’s like nowhere else I’ve ever been and always looks stunning in photos.
A Summer Heatwave
After the ceremony, the festivities continued outdoors, with guests enjoying the sunshine in St. Anne’s Garden. The day was exceptionally hot so it was cold drinks, sunglasses and handheld fans all round!
The Speeches
St. Anne’s was filled with so many vibrant flowers and gorgeous decorations as we entered for the wedding breakfast. Afterwards, there were heartfelt speeches from the maid of honour and groom’s father.
The groom once again submitted to tears during his speech, to everyone’s amusement, after which he got thoroughly roasted by his two best men!
Sunset Photos on the Hill
As the sun began to set, we seized the opportunity for some unforgettable shots on the hill behind St Anne’s, where champagne sprayed and laughter echoed into the evening.
Evening Fun
The cutting of the cake with a sword elicited raucous laughter, followed by the couple’s enchanting first dance surrounded by their nearest and dearest.
And as the night came to a close, the dance floor came alive with the glow of laughter and glow sticks. We joined eveyone on the dancefloor to capture the fun and antics!
