Hopton Court – An Introduction

Planning your wedding can be a minefield. It’s difficult to know where to start, right? That’s why I love getting a group of experienced wedding professionals together to create something amazing and to inspire future brides and grooms.

Finding your venue can be the most exciting part, and also the trickiest. The key is to work out what sort of vibe you want for your wedding day and then choose a venue that suits your style.

Hopton Court boasts a gorgeous Georgian Manor listed building surrounded by sloping lawns, woodland spaces and open countryside. The theme of this photoshoot – Country Luxe – fits the venue perfectly. As a team of experienced, talented, local wedding suppliers, we’ve come together to showcase this venue’s amazing spaces. We hope the result inspires, excites and wows future couples looking to get married there.

Getting Ready for your Big Day

The Georgian Manor at Hopton Court is the perfect place to get ready for your wedding day. With big floor to ceiling windows, a welcoming feel and history all around you, it really does set the scene.

Here’s Charlotte and Zoe from Bridal Luxe expertly prepping Lucy’s hair and makeup.

The newly refurbished stables next to the courtyard offer a fantastic space for the groom and his groomsmen. Here, you can put the finishing touches to your outfits, relax with your best mates and get ready for the day ahead. It’s a great spot for some impressive groom photos too!

The Orangery – Not Just for the Ceremony

The orangery at Hopton Court is a popular choice for the wedding ceremony. Whether indoors if you have a smaller guestlist, out right outside with the impressive structure acting as a backdrop, it’s a beautiful setting. With the stunning countryside views behind your guests as you exchange vows, what could be a better way to say ‘I Do’?

Of course, you can also use the orangery for other parts of your wedding day too! It’s a great space for a small wedding breakfast setup and perfect for reception drinks on a warm day, with your guests able to spread out onto the lawns. Add a champagne tower, cut your cake surrounded by guests, use it as a breakout space in summer – the choice is yours!

What we love about it the most though, is the opportunity to create some amazing wedding portraits in there. It’s beautiful as it is, but adding a few drapes, candles and flowers transformed it into the most incredible stage for this gorgeous colourful image.

The Gorgeous Grounds

Hopton Court is surrounded by stunning scenery. The house itself is the perfect backdrop for wedding photographs. Add to that the rolling countryside, woodland spaces and colourful landscaped gardens and you’re onto a winner for some great outdoor wedding portraits.

The great thing about Hopton Court is that you can enjoy the grounds without wandering away from your wedding guests. Right outside the orangery there are lawns to walk through. The beautiful lake provides a stunning backdrop. Or the house itself with its original architecture offers some great spots for outdoor photographs.

With just a little extra time and creative flair from our amazing stylist (Nina from The Wedding House) and florist (Renata from The Fairy Florist), we transformed the steps of the house to create this image.

The Coach House

The Coach House at Hopton Court sits slightly up the hill from the main house. It’s the perfect setting for welcome drinks or for your wedding breakfast. Whatever the weather, either inside or out in the courtyard, your guests will feel super welcome.

If you have a smaller guestlist, think about using the space to create something different. Check out these images of an intimate dinner setup outside in the courtyard. Very reminiscent of a gorgeous Italian al fresco wedding meal! The beautifully bold colours came into play here, with forest greens and mustard yellows bringing the table setting to life.

The Main House – Breakfast & Dinner

You’ll want somewhere impressive for your dinner the night before your wedding. Somewhere that sets the mood for the day to come. Think large bay windows, ornate decorations, historic charm and family heirloom pieces. Sounds good? Then we give you the dining room in the main Hopton Court Georgian Manor House.

The room lends itself perfectly to the beautifully bold colours and country luxe theme in these photos. With deep greens, blues and yellows accented with metallic gold, this table setting screams luxury. We even incorporated the little pheasant statues from the venue. It’s lovely to include some little touches of the venue too to make it really unique.

The Main House – Amazing Wedding Portraits

The main house isn’t just for getting ready and eating in. It’s a photographer’s dream when it comes to wedding photographs. With a gorgeous sweeping staircase and ornate archways from the lobby, it would be a crime not to create something fabulous in here!

One thing we love about Hopton Court is it’s storytelling feel. The history and the values of this place are amazing. As storytelling wedding photographers, we love to incorporate your wedding venue into your photographs. Whether that’s a walk up the beautiful staircase or a quiet sit in the lounge at the antique piano; make your wedding photographs gorgeous and, more importantly, make them unique.
