Hey there, I'm Kate
Introduction
When rustic meets luxury I know I’m going to get some great photographs! I loved capturing every moment, every emotion and every detail of this beautiful autumn wedding at Redhouse Barn. The couple had booked our two photographer option for the whole day so we didn’t miss a thing.
This stunning family run venue provided the perfect setting for this lovely couple to tell their wedding story. The barn was decorated with vibrant autumnal décor (I love autumn colours!), with leaves and flowers in shades of oranges and reds, with fir cones adding rustic charm.
Bridal Preparation
The day began with the bride and her bridesmaids preparing for the ceremony in the specially designated bridal prep room. The bride was surrounded by her favourite ladies, including her mum and bridesmaids. The bridesmaids looked beautiful in burnt orange dresses, which complemented the autumnal theme.
The Groom & Guest Arrival
Meanwhile, the groom and his groomsmen, along with the guests, arrived at the venue, looking very smart in their emerald green suits. I took the opportunity to capture some candid moments as the guys donned their buttonholes and prepared for the ceremony.
The Ceremony in the Red Brick Barn
The ceremony itself took place in the red brick barn, which has lovely soft light and an intimate atmosphere. The couple exchanged vows and rings against the backdrop of a beautiful wooden arch adorned with autumnal drapes and flowers.
Afterwards, while the drinks reception was in full swing, we managed to rearrange the furniture a little so that the couple could have some beautiful photographs under their ceremony arch in the barn. This is one of my favourites…
Drinks Reception
Afterward, guests enjoyed reception drinks and yummy canapés, courtesy of the award-winning caterers, Morgans Catering. Gavin (The Modern Conman) was also on hand with his amazing magic skills to entertain everyone.
Photos & Confetti in the Gardens
After the guests and the couple had had a chance to mingle and enjoy a drink or two, we ventured into the private gardens for group photos and the confetti throw.
The beautiful gardens and pond provided a picturesque backdrop for the outdoor couple photos. The bride and groom asked for minimal staged images (much like most of our couples), so we just spent ten minutes in the gardens, ensuring we got some beautiful photos of them without taking them away from their guests for long.
The Wedding Breakfast
The autumn colours matched with the rustic décor pieces, fairy lights, and the wooden beams of the barn created a wonderful ambiance in the wedding breakfast room.
The couple were announced into the room to lots of cheering and clapping which is always a great moment for photographs! After the meal, the speeches were delivered with warmth and humour by the father of the bride, the groom and the best men.
The couple cut their cake after the weddding breakfast rather than later on in the evening and it looked great against their rustic love letters. Not too posey here, just nice and natural.
The Evening
Day turned to night and the barn underwent a transformation for the evening celebration. The dance floor was illuminated by the glow of the venue’s spotlights and the room was lit up with colour. I love the way this room always sparkles on an evening.
Redhouse Barn provided the perfect backdrop for this autumnal wedding. We loved capturing the moments as they happened with our relaxed, storytelling style.
