Midnight Blues and Purple Orchids at Bredenbury Court Barns

21/11/2021

First Impressions

This was the very first wedding I ever photographed at Bredenbury Court Barns. The moment the venue came into view as I drove in, I fell in love with it. I’m so happy to now be on their recommended weddding photographer list. This winter wedding was themed on a starry night sky, with midnight blues and purple orchids forming the decor – simply stunning.

The bride and groom booked one of our smaller coverage options. We were there from the final bridal prep up until their wedding breakfast. This is really popular with smaller weddings, especially those not having an evening reception, and it worked perfectly for this intimate celebration.

The Oak Barn

The Oak Barn was transformed into a winter wonderland of deep blues and purples with a starry night sky theme. The bride is actually a florist and showed off her amazing skills with the stunning floral displays and bouquets.

The Bride

The bride looked stunning in her wedding dress. We got a few relaxed photos in the bridal prep room as she prepared to walk into the ceremony.

The Ceremony

The guests took their seats and the groom nervously waited for his soon to be wife. I captured some natural moments of him chatting with his best man.

It was such a perfect moment when the bride reached the front of the aisle and saw the groom for the first time that day. This is one of my favourite moments on a wedding day.

Relaxed Drinks in the Bar

After the ceremony there was time for some relaxed drinks and mingling in Bredenbury Court’s lovely bar area. We took this time to capture lots of natural moments s everyone enjoyed themselves.

Group & Couple Photos

It was pretty chilly outside and we were limited with daylight after the 3pm ceremony. Thankfully, the sunshine made an appearance and we got some lovely family photos as the sun went down behind the gorgeous Herefordshire countryside.

Cake Cutting to End the Formalities

The couple had chosen a smaller coverage, so we didn’t stay into the evening. We did make sure to take them into the Oak Barn before their guests were seated though, to get some shots of them cutting their cake. We give our couples this option of doing a pretend cake cut if we won’t be there for the real one. This way, they still get great photos and it’s a nice way to end the formalities.
