Last year, I heard about a place called the “confetti fields” from a photographer friend of mine. She’d done a few family shoots there and the images looked amazing! So much colour and depth – I just knew I had to organise some sessions there.
So, this summer I booked a three day professional photographer pass at the confetti fields. I was amazed at the response I got from my couples (past and present), and quickly filled the slots with engagement shoots, couple and family sessions.
A few of the shoots were with my wedding couples who opted to visit the confetti fields for their engagement shoot before their wedding day. Some were for couples who simply wanted some amazing, natural and colourful images of them together. I also photographed a few couples with their babies and toddlers, sometimes meeting them for the first time and others who had booked me to shoot their wedding and were now coming back for a family photography session. It was so lovely to meet the children of my wedding couples and I had a great time catching up with the adults too!
There was so much colour! Usually the real flowers are made up of different coloured delphiniums, but for 2020 they’s gone all out and added wild flowers and sunflowers – spoilt for choice!
I had so much fun over the three days (despite getting epic sunburn and, at one point, melting my camera strap to my shoulder!). It was HOT! I went home each day covered in sand and dust and craving about thirty ice creams, but it was definitely worth it – I got to spend the days with some lovely people, out in the sunshine surrounded by all the gorgeous flowers. After a long lockdown too, it was just the medicine we all needed.
Note: I’ll be doing this again in 2021, so if you love these images and would like to enquire about a session at the confetti fields, please get in touch and I can add you to my waiting list.
So get ready for some awesome colour! Here’s some of my favourites.
