Need to Know...

During my time as a wedding and family photographer I tend to come up against similar questions from potential and current clients, so here's a little run through of the most popular questions I'm asked to help you decide what's right for you.

Do you take all the photos?

Is there a booking fee?

I usually work alone for weddings and portrait sessions, and it is myself (Kate) that you will be meeting and dealing with throughout your booking. I do not outsource any element of the photography apart from album manufacture (editing, album design and photography itself is all done by me).

There is the option to book a second photographer and/or a videographer to work alongside me if you would like one.

I work with a carefully selected and team of photographers for equestrian events depending on availability.

I charge a non-refundable booking fee of £500 for the All Inclusive wedding packages, and a £200 booking fee for the Short & Sweet wedding package. This secures your date, along with a signed contract. The remaining balance is due 2 months before the wedding.

For portrait sessions, the full cost of the shoot is payable upon booking and for private events, a £100 deposit is required to secure your date with the final balance due 14 days before the event date.

Wedding date postponed?

What if you get ill?

In the face of recent events including the Covid-19 pandemic, postponed weddings are sadly something that I have learned to expect and accept.

I will work closely with you to move to an agreeable date and moving to an off peak date within a year of your original booking will incur no extra cost, provided you are postponing due to matters outside of your control.

I have associate photographers that I work with if I cannot personally make your new date.

Although I primarily work by myself, I have built up some fantastic contacts within the industry, so I am confident that I would have people to call upon in an emergency.

I am a member of several social media groups for emergency cover should the worst happen, and I also have an amazing group of well trusted second shooters and associate photographers as my first port of call.

It would take a lot to keep me away from a wedding or photo shoot however, and it hasn't happened yet!

How can I calm my

pre-photo nerves?

How long before we

can see our photos?

Photography should be fun, and I do my best to make it so for all of my clients. A pre-wedding session is brilliant for wedding couples who are a little nervous. I photograph with a very non-invasive natural style which usually takes away any nerves or awkwardness.

For weddings, I upload images to your online gallery around 4-6 weeks after your wedding date. Summer is busier so it can take a little longer.

Engagement and portrait shoot galleries are typically ready 2-3 days after your session. Equestrian event galleries are usually uploaded within 24 hours of the event.

You'll receive an email with your gallery link as soon as it is live and ready for you.

How long do you keep images online for?

When do I order albums, books or wall art?

All online galleries are live for 12 months from your wedding, portrait session or event. After 12 months the gallery will expire. You'll have the option to extend the gallery for an additional 3 months if you would like to, for a small administration cost.

Once galleries expire, images are safely stored on on a cloud backup and on my external hard drives so you can rest assured they're super safe if you ever lose them.

You will have the option to pre-order any printed products that are not included in your wedding or shoot package. There is a 10% pre-order discount for any albums or wall art ordered in advance of your session.

If you don't pre-order, don't worry - I have a huge range of sample items for you to see after you've seen your images and are ready to decide what you'd like.
