You know how it is, you see all your friends posting cute photos of their kids’ birthdays, the classic proud parents moments. And you’re there cuddling up to your fur baby, who is of course one of the most important parts of your family. Maybe you have human children too. Or maybe you’re an exclusive doggie mama/papa.
So here’s the great news – cake smashes are no longer just for human kids! Something I realised after I woke up one day and decided to do something fun for my beagle’s 15th birthday! I thought it would be a bit of a laugh, something for me to keep , and of course he’d have the time of his life. It wasn’t until I was editing the photos of him after the shoot that I thought – hang on, this could be a thing!
Picture this – your pampered pooch sitting pretty in front of a lovely professional photo back drop (this is provided by me). Wearing a super cute birthday bandana (also provided) and waiting patiently – or not so patiently perhaps – for their personalised doggy birthday cake (guess what – ALSO provided by me).
A few shots of them looking adorable before it’s CAKE DESTRUCTION TIME! Jack, my lovely greedy boy, absolutely loved his cake…I mean, he’s a beagle so he loves all food, and most things that any sane person would consider inedible, but even so. Even better, the lovely lady who makes the cakes uses all natural dog-friendly ingredients so you know you’re giving them something nutritious as well as really yummy. I even tried a bit myself and it tasted like carrot cake (hey, ‘what’s good enough for the dog…’)!
