Bredenbury Court Barns – a gorgeous wedding venue nestled in the Herefordshire countryside near Bromyard. My first visit to this venue was back in 2020, when weddings were super tiny, which in itself was pretty beautiful (I love intimate weddings).
However, when Lucy and Toby booked me for their wedding day in October 2022, I was so excited at the prospect of shooting a full day wedding there. It turned out to be the most beautiful October day, with gorgeous autumnal sunshine dappling through the trees and basking the venue in that gorgeous winter sunlight that all photographers love.
Having gotten to know Lucy and Toby through our various chats and meetings in the run up to their wedding, as well as on their engagement shoot – which we did on Lucy’s Grandad’s farm and ended up including his two pet sheep in – I knew this was going to be a really chilled, fun day.
Bredenbury Court is one of those venues that is just a pleasure to work at. The bridal prep room is huge! Plus, those fancy floor to ceiling mirrors and all the lovely little touches make it a fantastic place to relax and get ready with your favourite people. We met Toby, the groom, as he arrived to put the finishing touches to his outfit too, before he greeted the guests in the cosy bar area.
Bredenbury’s ceremony room is possibly one of my favourite wedding ceremony rooms. It’s so pretty; big, bright, airy, huge windows looking out onto the countryside, and a perfect blank canvas for brides and grooms to fill with their beautiful wedding decorations and finishing touches. Lucy and Toby kept the autunmal theme going with burnt oranges and reds for their flowers and chair sashes, and some simple white flowers scattered down the aisle.
As a team of three at this wedding – I had Chrissie as second photographer with me and Aaron filming video (both options you can add onto a wedding photography package with us) we captured every moment of their ceremony form both ends of this gorgeous room, finishing off with confetti as they walked back up the aisle as husband and wife for the first time.
Reception drinks followed in the bar and, as the weather was so beautiful and warmer than usual for the time of year, most of the guests ventured out onto the terrace and into the grounds for some group photographs and drinks while I took Lucy and Toby off for a short photo session against the stunning views of the Herefordshire hills. Of course, we alaso had to have a play in the leaves because, who doesn’t love that?!
The rest of the day was spent eating some absolutely amazing food, catching up with friends and family, dancing the night away and having some creative fun with sparklers, which involved poor Chrissie running around dressed in black like a ninja to get the perfect sparkler lines – never let it be said we don’t do things with 100% effort at Still Light Photography!
I’m told by a lot of people that, as a fairly new venue, Bredenbury Court isn’t known so well, and a lot of couples I mention it to haven’t heard of it. Well, this needs to change – and I’m sure it will very soon – becauase it’s an absolutely stunning venue and one of my favourites in my 12 years of being a wedding photographer. They’ve recently been named by HITCHED as one of the TOP TEN most popular venues in the UK, so they’ll definitely soon be on everyone’s radar! You can read the review of this award here.
Thank you to the wonderful staff who always make us feel so welcome.
Lucy and Toby booked us for our well-known natural, storytelling style of wedding photography and this day was the perfect mix of those wonderful candid moments, some fun couple photos, those all important family group shots and some sparkler creativity thrown in for good measure! Here are a few favourites from their day…
