Two things I love the most combined at the beginning of December to make the most wonderful day in Chipping, Preston. That would be Christmas and a beautiful Wedding! Although early in the month, Kate and Steve had prepared some fantastically festive and wintery wedding details and their colour scheme of white and baby pink suited their theme and their venue perfectly.
Despite a (very) wet start to the weekend - if you remember it was about the time that all of the Northern floods began - my trusty Shogun ploughed through to get me to Chipping safely and I spent a lovely morning with both families preparing for the day. Kate and Steve live in a lovely old cottage with exposed brick walls and beams...I fell in love with the place as soon as I walked in and had a fab time arranging the little touches to create some rustic and wintery scenes.
Over at Bartle Hall - after a few nail-biting moments when we wondered if the wedding car would make it through the growing waters - Kate arrived looking absolutely stunning and we even got a little bit of sunshine! Molly the owl made an unexpected appearance with 'Ring on a Wing' to deliver the wedding rings during the ceremony!
The hotel was decorated for the festive season, of which we made the most of in the evening for the couple's bride and groom portraits. Perhaps one of my favourite images is of Kate next to the Christmas tree...a little off-camera Speedlite flash on a wide softbox helped here to maintain the Christmas lights and light Kate whilst still keeping the wonderful ambience and atmosphere of the hotel lighting.
I made three very sweet and very beautiful friends throughout the day; namely Kayleigh, Harriet and Izzy - Kate and Steve's three flower girls. We had some emotional times when it was finally time for me to go home! Thank you girls for being so helpful and I must say you did all look stunning in your dresses and with that glitter spray in your hair! :)
One more 2015 wedding to share - that will be Amanda and Darren at Dumbleton Hall. Think Christmas trees, Elvis Presley...and Reindeer!
